ALHAMBRA PALACES: FREE VISITS

The Alhambra has organized free tours to the Alhambra Palaces in collaboration with the Official Granada Local Guides in july 2018.

This special program is only for the Granada residents and it is available every sunday from 18 to 20 hours.

HOW YOU CAN GET YOUR TICKET

If you want to participate in this visits, you must go to the Corral del Carbón building, in the city center (next to Granada town hall) and you can apply for your ticket and guided tour.

PARTS INCLUDED IN THE ALHAMBRA GUIDED TOUR

In July 2018, there are several places to visit:

  • Mexuar or Justice court
  • Comares Palace or the courtyard of the myrtle
  • Lions Palace
  • Christian rooms of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V
  • Chambers of Washington Irving, where the famous american writer wrote the Tales of the Alhambra
  • Partal gardens.

In a couple of hours, you will discover the most outstanding section of the Alhambra constructions: the palaces built in the XIVth century. These marvelous patios were built by three different sultans: Ismail I, Jusuf I and Muhammad V.

Throught this tour we will discover the different functions of the palaces, the building materials, and the daily life in Al-Andalus.

This wonderful visit is the highlight of Alhambra.

You will see the amazing decorations inside the private areas: tiles, plasterworks, wooden ceilings, marble columns.

This is a trip that you can not miss: a trip to the past, a trip to the medieval Alhambra palaces.
